Earthing for Recovery

Leave a Comment / Self-Care / By coachizumi

Have you ever heard of “Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing) ” it is a ritualistic practice some Japanese people have found to be helpful for their health and well being. There is another simpler form of this called “Earthing” or “Grounding” . I am always curious about anything natural that helps people sleep better, feel better and recover better, and so I took a dive into the information.

Through my research, I listened to several natural practitioners who talk about this concept and how it works, and it made sense to me but it felt too simple and easy. Then, I found the documentary, The Earthing Movie: The Remarkable Science of Grounding. This documentary was so interesting and fascinating.

It talks about how nature provides what we need but how humans get so modernized and blinded from our busy lives. Earthing teaches us the benefit we will receive from the nature that surround us if we are curious enough to try.

How? I encourage you to watch this movie and start doing one very simple thing: get in touch with earth by simply taking off your shoes and walk on grass, sand, dirt or concrete or just make contact with earth with feet, hands or body. This simple act will allow earth energy run into our body through transfer of negavtively-charged electrons and neutrize positively-charged distructive free radicals involved in chronic inflammation.

Why? Because resting cell is negatively charged, we all can feel more balanced physically, emotionally and mentally, which help us sleep better and feel better overall.

Why not? We train hard and try to do the right things for quick recovery by hydrating and eating better, and I believe we can add this simple act to help us sleep better because the recovery happens when we are in sleep.

Here is the link for the documentary. It’s worth your time to know what you can do.

If you are willing to try, send me back a message and let me know your experience.
